Bedroom Beauty Challenge: Love

So here is my attempt at the bedroom beauty challenge from Louise/Sprinkle of Glitter. It was pretty fun to do! Here is a link to the challenge. I'm not very good at makeup, so this gave me a chance to practice. Please excuse my hair, it was a long day at school. I also haven't done it properly all week because I need to get healthier products for my hair, which I can finally do this weekend. All the products I currently own(Shampoos and Conditioners etc.) were stripping my hair of it's moisture and preventing it from gaining new moisture. That being said, I have worn it in a bun(a very messy one) all week, which I'm really getting tired of. Here is a link to Louise's Blog, you should definitely check her out if you haven't heard of her yet, I love her. She also has a youtube channel, which is the same as her blog name.

Since February's theme is Love, I tried to do a warm look with pink on my eyes and cheeks and lips. I also did a bit of a winged eyeliner, just because I liked the way it looks. I really Detest taking selfies, so I spent a very long time trying to get an acceptable picture haha. Please excuse my ugly bathroom wall, it's going to be redone soon :)

Here is a picture of all the products I used, with descriptions down below. Sorry about the quality of the photo. 

Eyeshadow: Both MAC, I can't read what the pink one is but the are both frosts and the other one is called, VEX. I used the pink one on my cheeks as well.

Eye Primer: It's a MAC paint pot in Rubenesque

Foundation: It's more a of a build able powder, than a foundation. It's MAC Studio Fix in the tone, NW43.

Mascara: I need a new one, this one is getting old and clumpy but it's Lancome's Definicils High Definition Mascara

Brows: I use this to keep my brows straight, it also softens them a bit, because the color is brown and my eyebrows look more black. It's MAC's Brow Set in the color, Show-Off.

Brushes: The double ended brushes are from CVS, my local drugstore. They are by essence of beauty. One is blending and eyeshadow, the other is blush and powder. The last brush is the MAC 252 brush, it's an eyeshadow brush.

I forgot the lipstick in the photo but it's Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in the Pearl finish. It's the color 150, Cocoa Bronze. I just put some lip balm on top to make it lighter, it's a really dark color. I also forgot the eyeliner, it's the Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black. 

One very awful mirror pic of me. However, you can sort of see my red nail polish which I thought fit into the love theme. It's by Estee Lauder in number 90, Red Hot. It was a gift from my Grandma :) you can also see part of the wall in my room, with some of my artwork from earlier years, and half of my dog sitting on my gym bag.

Sorry!

Sorry I haven't been posting as much lately! I have a lot of work to do for school. So hopefully, after Wednesday, I can post more frequently. I still am going to do Sprinkle of Glitter/Louise's Bedroom Beauty Challenge, which I should be able to post tomorrow, and then I will try to post every day after that :D

Cool Closet Find

So a while little ago, I was cleaning out my closet and I happened to find something that I ended up really liking. I have no where it came from, or how it got in my closet. I've been wearing it a lot lately, and it's just so unique and fun. 

It's a scarf! I have never seen such a cool looking scarf before. The yarn, the colors, everything is just so lovely. I'm including some other pictures to hopefully give a better look at some of the details.

I like that I can find really cool things in my closet. After further cleaning, I also found unworn clothes  that are really cute, and a long lost pair of shoes. My closet is not big whatsoever, I'm surprised so many things were hiding in there. It also gives me an opportunity to donate clothes I no longer wear, to make room for new ones. I wonder if anyone else has found interesting things while cleaning.

Valentine's Day Musings

This is a little late, but Valentine's isn't officially over for me until all the sweets are gone. With that being said, I've come to realize a few things about the holiday. The first being that I really don't like those fancy little chocolate boxes. It's an awful feeling when you are scanning the box, and you find an appetizing looking piece, you take a bite, and it's some weird mystery flavor that is completely inedible. I'd much rather go for some Reeses, Hershey Bars, Dove Chocolates, Hershey Kisses, Godiva(their chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite), snickers etc. They always come in cute little Valentine's Day themed wrappers too. However, it is the thought that counts, and anything received on Valentine's Day makes me feel extremely happy. I just won't eat the mystery chocolates.

Something else I noticed about Valentine's is people constantly being in a negative mood about it. I always hear, "Single on Valentine's Day, sucks to be me." Or, "I hate Valentine's Day, all it ever makes me feel is lonely." Things like that bothered me a bit for some reason. To me, Valentine's Day is about love, and it's about making people feel loved and appreciated. The smile on people's faces when they receive a valentine is enough to make me extremely happy. I also get an extremely warm feeling in my heart when I receive one. I may have a boyfriend, who I adore, but he is not the only factor of my happiness on Valentine's Day. My family, and my friends, have been making my Valentine's day special for the past 17 years. To those of you who will eternally hate Valentine's Day, for other reasons, I can't change your mind. If it's because you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend to share it with, I do hope you have your friends and family so you can stop being so down about it.

Well, I guess this turned into somewhat of a little rant. Sorry!!

                    For anyone who didn't receive any valentines at all, I hope this belated one helps :)

Winding down for the night/name change

Due to me having school tomorrow, it's time to settle in for the night. I was super excited when my mom brought home honey after food shopping today because I am finally able to use it with my favorite tea, in my favorite mug. I love tea with honey, it gives it just the right amount of sweetness.

My favorite tea is TAZO's Zen Green Tea. It has spearmint in it, which makes for a nice minty flavor. It is sold as a Starbucks drink, and I was excited to know that I could buy my own for home.

I happen to love Tinkerbell :) as well as the colors of this mug. It was a gift from a friend which makes it much more special.

Also I've decided to change my blog name, because I'm extremely indecisive. Watch me change it again in a few days.

Lovely, delicious, Body Shop products

 I have to admit, I have an addiction to The Body Shop products. It all started in 6th grade when my friend gave me a gift pack of the strawberry scented body butter, hand soap, and shower gel. Every one of their products smells delicious, and they are environmentally friendly :) My favorite product of theirs has to be the body butters(I believe those are their most popular as well). All their body butters are super moisturizing and instantly get rid of any dry skin, in the winter time especially. In the summer time, they make my skin glow!! I recently ran out of a jumbo tub of the coconut scented body butter(my favorite), and a sweet lemon one. Unfortunately, they've stopped making the jumbo tubs :( These are the mini body butters I received for christmas. They came in a cute lollipop shaped container.

My thoughts on the scents, from the pale yellow one to the left:

Pale yellow color, Moringa: I don't really know how to describe this one but it is a light, sort of fluffy scent. I really like it, it's not too strong but you can definitely smell it. It kind of wakes me up when I put it on.

Orange color, Satsuma: If you love citrus, this smells delicious. Although it may have a tendency to make people think you slathered an orange all over your body, it's really refreshing and is great summer scent.

Brown color, Coconut: My favorite!! I don't really know if it smells like a coconut(as I have never really smelled one). At first smell, I wouldn't associate it with coconut either.  You know, that fake smelling air freshener type coconut scent. It is more of a warm, beachy scent. It's so so creamy, and the scent is pleasant without being overwhelming.

Red color, Strawberry: This one smells so delicious. Like a very fresh strawberry smoothie. I just love it. I don't know if this is normal, but it makes me happy when I put it on.

Cream color, Shea: This one smells like shea butter, which probably doesn't tell you much more than the name of scent did. It isn't an extremely strong scent, very neutral, with a hint of nuttiness. I think it would  be a good body butter to use perfume with. The smell of it probably wouldn't clash with the smell of the perfume. I have yet to try that out :)

I apologize for not having much of a constructive opinion, as I really like them all.

Some other products that I really like:



If you have really really dry hands in the winter(which I did last year). This helps a ton. My hands were chapped, and the skin was breaking. As soon as I put this on, I felt instant relief, and my hands were instantly moisturized. It only took a couple of days for them to heal. I suppose it smells like hemp seed oil, as that is it's main ingredient. The smell might be a little strong for some, but it's not too overbearing in my opinion.






This is nice little treat every time I go to wash my hands. It is soap free, I think that is what makes it non-drying(perfect for winter!). My hands even feel soft after I use it. Instead of my whole body smelling citrusy, just my hands and my bathroom do. The scent is more faint than the body butter as well. Of course, it is sold in other scents so you can choose which one you like best. This is an older one that I had, and just started using after I ran out of my other one. I think there is different packaging now.











Another The Body Shop product that I really liked, but unfortunately ran out of it, is the body scrub in sweet lemon. It's filled with exfoliating sugar crystals. I like to use it on my arms, feet, and legs(especially before shaving). It leaves a sort of oily film, which bothers some people, but I happen to really like it. It's only noticeable when you are in the shower, because oil and water don't mix. My skin feels super soft and moisturized afterwards, and all the dead skin is gone.

Polished Boots!

Since today is my last day off from school, I decided to be super productive. I cleaned my room from top to bottom, and organized a bunch of my stuff. I also ended up polishing my boots. Although it's not my best job at polishing(as I did it really quickly) they look a whole lot better than they did before.

On the left is my boot before polishing, on the right is my boot after polishing.   I definitely think there is a big difference. 

Both of them are all done! I feel like they look better in person, but I guess it's because the camera doesn't lie.
